Theresa and I at one of our book signings with Latterday CottageTheresa Sneed, my best friend for a very long time, and I are learning how to create our very own podcast. Our launch on April 4th was a huge success and we’ve been having a lot of fun recording, editing and producing them. Here is our very first one. It took us several tries, but we got it just the way we wanted it.

Our second podcast we released on April 11. Our topic is: Finding Writing Ideas–Asking, “What if”.

I hope you enjoy listening.

What or who inspires you in your writing? Where do you get your ideas? I’d love some feedback!

Welcome to My Author Website

So, you’ve decided to drop in and see what I’m up to now. Let me tell you. After spending countless hours of watching Youtube videos on how to create a website, I’m finally ready to launch my brand new author website. The best source for walking you through the process is from Robert Weimer from desireadifference.com. If you’re thinking about creating your own website, then this is a great resource for getting started.

This is a place for readers, authors, and writers to find advice, helps, opinions, and other useful information from the world of writing.

For me writing is not only an escape, but it’s cathartic and helps me to reach out to people. I love to read stories that inspire me, make me want to be a better person and help me to make sense of this crazy world in which we live. There is more to this life than simply being born, living and dying. What makes one person a good person and another so evil that you wonder why God didn’t just strike them down before he/she inflicted that wickedness onto another human being?

When I was in my teen years, I used to think that I had a great work ahead of me, that I would be like the next Mother Theresa, or develop something to save humanity, or discover some lost treasure that would bring about the knowledge of who we truly are.

As the years progress and I was nowhere near what I thought my life mission was I began to feel lost in a sea of so many people. I wondered if all I was meant to do was live and die. In the last few years I’ve come to realize that in my own small way, I am making a difference. Two quotes stand out the strongest for me and help me to realize my purpose for being on this planet. “If you save one person, you have saved a universe.” I don’t know who said it, but I’ve always remembered it. The second is from The Doctrine and Covenants. “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God… And if it so be that you … bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!” Perhaps I am that one soul, that one universe. I cannot change anyone but myself–I cannot make anyone believe as I do, or feel as I do. But what I can do is make a difference in the world through my writing. I can write stories that will inspire.

God has given each of us a gift or talent. What is your talent? How can you use it to bless the lives of those around you? For me it is making a difference one inspirational story at a time.
